NY Wa$teMatch manages a citywide
materials exchange, provides technical assistance with solid waste reduction
and environmentally preferable purchasing, and conducts informal research and
development projects. Its program’s participants include New York City
businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies, and is operated
by the NYC Materials Exchange Development Program (MEDP) at the City College
of New York. MEDP aims to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of
materials exchange and reuse activities in New York City, and to increase
access to these innovative waste prevention services.

is New York City's design review agency. Established in 1898, the Commission

was founded in 1918 and is a business

businesses grow and to promoting the economic development of Brooklyn.

borough.

The Harlem Book Fair was founded
in 1999 and the first fair was held on Harlem's West 125th Street. It is
presently the largest African American book event nationally with festivals
held in eight cities. The fair was created as a not-for-profit event by QBR

They are active in all five
boroughs of New York City, and the

in making people aware of how trees add beauty to city streets. Also

and trapping pollutants, and providing shade in the summer and solar heating
in the winter. |
